The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

Name, contact details, DOB, GP, medical info, other agencies working with you


How we get the personal information and why we have it


Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for the following reasons:

So that I can best support you in our therapeutic relationship


Sharing information

I would only share information if I had your consent or as per Counselling Contract, if there is a ‘risk of

harm’/safeguarding issue that requires me to by law to do so I would usually consult with you beforehand


How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on password protected PC/and or memory stick and any hard copies are kept

in a locked cabinet I keep your information for 7 years from your 18th birthday or from the end of our work together

After this date, your information will be deleted, and hard copies shredded.


Your Rights Under General Data Protection Regulations, you have the following rights:

  • The right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal information as described herein
  • The right to access data, through a data subject access request to jodi@lovelockscounselling.co.uk
  • The right to rectification: If you believe information that I hold about you is not accurate, please contact me and I will
  • amend it, if found to be incorrect
  • The right to erase: you can request at any time that I erase or destroy any personal information or data that I hold
  • on you if you believe it to be incorrect. This request must be in writing or by e-mail. Some data cannot be erased but
  • must be retained for lawful purposes and in line with my insurance policy
  • The right to data portability: You have the right to obtain your personal data for your own purposes
  • You have the right to object to any personal data being collected, however I am required to keep appropriate
  • records in line with my insurer, professional body, and for legal and safeguarding purposes


You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to

respond to you
